With the election campaigns heating up, I wanted to remind everyone of these nonpartisan nonprofit websites that may help you cut through the rhetoric on both sides, and get to the truth. Even though it’s a repeat of an old post, I think it has a new significance now that the main candidates have been decided:
- FactCheck.org – fact checks claims made by politicians
- Project Vote Smart – background checks, voting records, where candidates stand on issues, etc.
- Vote By Issue Quiz - find out which candidate you’re most aligned with, based on the issues only
- PollingReport – what the polls say

The League of Women Voters is also a non-partisan organization that promotes an active, informed citizenry. (national website at http://www.lwv.org, DeKalb chapter at http://www.lwvdk.org/)

Maybe this information could be incorporated into a subject guide on U.S. Elections/Politics, or something like that.
